HINTS AND TIPS
How to Safe Time and Money with Receiving E-mails:
Microsoft Outlook has the option to create E-Mail rules, which could be
set upon your own selection of criteria.
It takes time browsing through tens or hundreds of e-mails everyday.
Valuable hours are lost every day, due to time spent on SPAM, marketing
e-mails and the like.
Set your own rules in Outlook so that messages from a specific person, or
with a specific subject, will be send to a dedicated folder
automatically.
You only have to set the rule once, and if you do this for 10 regular
e-mails received on a daily basis, you could save as much as between 10 and
20 hours a year on these 10 messages alone.
Security Hints & Tips:
When you work with Internet Banking,
- Always type the address in the navigation bar, don't access the website
from an internet link in an e-mail message or even from your desktop
- Always ensure that the address starts with HTTPS:
(The "S" is very important for security reasons)
- Most banks have the option to install a "secure client" on your
workstation. Find out from your bank about this client, but make 100%
sure that you download the client from the banks website and not from any
other "fake" site.
- Remember that your bank will NEVER send you an e-mail message to request
personal information.
- Plenty of E-Mail and SMS messages are going around, informing people about
a competition they have won. Sometimes it's hard to resist calling
back or answering the e-mail messages. These are all scam
driven. You have to be very careful not to fall into any of the traps
set by these fraudsters.
